Fees side by side on £2,000, £10,000 and £40,000 a month.

Card fees only, using published figures read on 26 October 2026. Flatpay figures use its payment terminal rate of 1.49%. Dojo is included as a third option at its published 1.2% for businesses under £100,000 a year.

  • £2,000 a month: Flatpay £29.80 (1.49%), with a £0 terminal. Teya quote only. Dojo £24.00 (1.2%), plus a machine from £15 a month or £149 upfront.
  • £10,000 a month, which is £120,000 a year: Flatpay £149.00. Teya quote only. Dojo quote only, as its 1.2% applies under £100,000 a year.
  • £40,000 a month, which is £480,000 a year: Flatpay quote only, as it gives a custom rate above £200,000 a year. Teya quote only. Dojo quote only.

Machines and till packages.

Flatpay's standard offer is a PAX A920 Pro payment terminal at £0, with access to its software. If you want a full till, Flatpay sells three packages with a one-off onboarding and installation charge: mPOS on a PAX A920 2GB Pro at £995, POS Pro with a Lenovo tablet at £1,495, and POS Premium with a CPOS X5 at £2,495. On all three, the rate is 1.69% rather than 1.49%. On £10,000 a month that is £169.00 against £149.00, so the till package adds £20.00 a month in card fees on top of its upfront cost.

Teya does not publish a machine price. It offers Tap to Pay on iPhone and Android, and says it works with more than 200 ePOS systems, the till software many hospitality businesses already use. If you already have a till you like, check it is on Teya's list. If you want Flatpay's till, check what is included in the package before paying the one-off charge.

Payouts, contracts and support.

Teya pays the next day, every day, weekends and bank holidays included. Takings from a busy Saturday reach you on Sunday, which helps businesses that pay staff and suppliers weekly. To avoid the extra 0.10%, your money must go into a Teya account.

Flatpay offers daily payouts and daily settlements, meaning money is sent to your bank every day, and states no payout fee. It does not publish its contract terms, so ask for the length, notice period and any exit charge in writing.

Both publish strong support. Teya is 24/7 and UK-based, by WhatsApp, email or phone, with sales open Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm. Flatpay offers 24/7 support by email and phone on +44 2080289990. Teya states no hidden charges, no lock-ins and no small print; Flatpay states no hidden fees. Neither publishes PCI fees or chargeback fees.

Is Teya better than Flatpay for your business?.

If you take under £200,000 a year and want to know your cost today, Flatpay's 1.49% with a free terminal is simple to check. A café taking £6,000 a month would pay £89.40 a month in card fees with no machine cost.

If weekend cash flow matters, or you want a provider that sets the rate around your sector and average sale, get a Teya quote. A business with a high average sale and mostly debit cards may be offered a rate below a flat 1.49%, but only a quote will show it.

Above £200,000 a year both are quote only. Give both the same figures, ask each for the full monthly bill including any machine, account and PCI charges, and compare the totals rather than the headline rate.

Get the best rate for your business.

Flatpay publishes for smaller businesses, but Teya and every larger business need a quote, and quotes are where the real savings sit. We compare the whole UK card payment market, including Dojo, SumUp, Teya, Flatpay, Paymentsense, Square, Worldpay and others, against your real card sales, your average sale and the way you trade. Where a provider only gives quotes, we request the quote for you and negotiate the rate, so you compare real numbers rather than list prices.

When you have chosen, we handle the switch: the application, the paperwork and the timing with your current provider, so you keep taking payments throughout. You then get a named account manager who stays with you after setup, checks your statements and deals with the provider when something needs fixing. You pay us nothing. We may receive a fee from the provider you choose.
