What we do.

Company data deals stall at the seller's legal review. Holding a record is not the same as the right to license it: client contracts, confidentiality terms, data protection law and third-party licences all reach into the same files.

Since 2013 BCC has run due diligence, regulatory approvals and data reviews for firms whose information is among the most tightly controlled anywhere. We clear company data for licensing in every sector, and run de-identification inside the seller's own systems so raw records never leave them.

Rights and authority

Ownership, signing authority, client contracts, confidentiality obligations and third-party licences reviewed, with permitted uses set out in writing.

Privacy clearance

The lawful basis for each use, purpose limits and the exclusion of special category and sensitive data, documented for the buyer.

On-premises de-identification

Personal and identifying information removed inside the seller's environment, with consistent replacement so links across email, tickets and spreadsheets survive, and re-identification testing before release.

Cleared datasets

We also source and supply company datasets cleared to the same standard, each from a company that has chosen to license its own data.

How it works.

  1. ScopeThe dataset, the buyer's intended use and the seller's systems and obligations.
  2. ClearRights and privacy reviewed, restrictions identified and resolved, permitted uses agreed.
  3. De-identifyProcessing deployed inside the seller's environment, output tested and approved for release.
  4. ReleaseEach package approved by the seller and delivered with its clearance record.

Questions we are asked.

Which sectors do you clear?

All of them. The work turns on contracts, confidentiality and data protection, which apply to every company that holds operating records.

Does raw data leave the seller?

No. De-identification runs inside the seller's own environment, and only approved, de-identified packages are released.

Do you act for the seller or the buyer?

Either, agreed per engagement. The clearance record is prepared so that both sides can rely on it.

Can you supply datasets as well as clear them?

Yes. We source and supply cleared company datasets to a buyer's specification, each from a company that has chosen to license its own data under its own agreement.

How do you handle exclusivity and prior licences?

Existing licences, exclusivity and prior distribution are checked as part of clearance, so a new licence does not conflict with an earlier one.
