Every authorisation engagement runs in a private workspace shared by your team and ours: each question, document, key person and open point in one place, with progress both teams can see.
An FCA application draws on many people: the board, the compliance officer, finance, the technology lead and every shareholder with a qualifying holding. Run by email, it scatters across attachments and versions, and nobody can say with confidence what is still missing.
The workspace keeps the application in one place, broken down the way the regulator reads it. Each person sees the part they own, our experts review each answer as it is written, and both teams see the same picture of what is ready and what is not.
Each person sees and completes the part they own, with the regulator’s expectations set out beside every question.
A private section each, for the forms and evidence the regulator asks of every director, senior manager and controller.
One view of what is ready, what is with us for review and what is still missing.
Six things the workspace does for an application.
The application is set out section by section and question by question. Each question breaks into the specific points the regulator expects you to cover, with a worked example from a fictional firm that shows the depth required. The example is there to read, not to copy.
You invite colleagues and give each section or question to the person who owns it, for example security to your information security lead. They receive an email with a link straight to their part, and a reminder before the due date.
Each director, senior manager and shareholder with 10% or more completes a private section: the individual or controller form and the evidence behind it. Blank fields and missing documents are flagged until they are complete.
Answer online, paste from your own documents, or upload a questionnaire completed offline. Answers in our Word template split into the right questions automatically; any other document opens a screen to place each passage.
Our experts review each answer and each document against the regulatory requirements and return comments on the question itself. Every open point has an owner and a date.
Readiness for every section and every person, updated as work is done. The whole application, any section or every document downloads in Word, PDF or one folder at any point.
Your application is drafted. We assess it in the workspace against the regulatory requirements, question by question and document by document, so that it is complete and consistent before it goes to the regulator.
We manage the authorisation with you through to approval. Your team supplies the facts, the people and the evidence in the workspace; we prepare the application, and any question from the regulator that needs your input comes back to the same place.
Access is by invitation from us. Everyone signs in with a single-use link sent to their work email, so there are no shared passwords.
Personal forms and identity documents are visible only to the individual concerned and to us. Every download of a personal document is recorded.
The application and every document can be downloaded at any time, and a frozen copy of what was submitted is kept with its date.
Any firm preparing an FCA application. Start it from this page in three steps: choose the licence, name the firm and yourself, and open your workspace. You can invite colleagues, key people and shareholders straight away, and Buckingham Capital Consulting confirms the engagement with you.
UK FCA applications for authorised and small electronic money institutions, and authorised and small payment institutions. We are adding other licences in turn.
No. Your team writes the answers about your business, and our experts review them. The prompts and worked examples show what the regulator expects; they are not templates to copy.
Yes. Upload it in Word, PDF or text. If it follows our template, each answer lands in the right question automatically. If not, you place each passage against its question on one screen.
Only the individual and Buckingham Capital Consulting. The application lead sees each person’s progress, not their answers or documents.
We record exactly what was submitted. If the regulator asks a question that needs your input, it appears in the workspace with a deadline, and your reply comes back to us there.
